Report On “One Day Cleanliness & Awareness Camp”
Event Date & Day: Thursday, 1st August 2024.
Venue: Kanifnath Temple and Surrounding area,
Village-Bopgaon, Tal. Purandar, Dist. Pune,Maharashtra, India.
Time – 10:00 am to 4:00pm.
Objective: To develop and to inculcate the awareness among Diploma Engineering students of cleaning of historical, religious and natural places to improve the general quality of life by sensitize them on maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and eliminating open defecation.
About Event: Department of Automation & Robotics of JSPM’s Jayawantrao Sawant Polytechnic,Hadapsar,Pune 28 has organized a one day Cleanliness Social Activity Camp on August 01, 2024 at Kanifnath Temple surrounding area,Village Bopgaon, Tal:Purandar, Dist: Pune.Total 57 students along with two faculty from Department of Automation and Robotics of the unit participated in this visit. The cleanliness drive started by 9.45 am. All the faculty members and volunteers were gathered in the surrounding of temple. Faculties Ms.Chavan K.D. & Mrs.Pawar P.M. who led this activity, distributed areas of work & explained duties of the cleanliness to all.
Volunteers divided themselves in three teams and target the areas within the temple surroundings for executing the cleanliness drive. They managed to make it clean & attractive as well. Faculty members also got involved in this cleanliness drive. They guided the students and simultaneously explained the importance of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” as well. After the successful execution of the activity, all assembled near the Temple Surrounding. Lunch with tea was also served to the entire student by the temple. It is one of the most important practices for a clean and healthy environment. Moreover, it is both public hygiene and personal hygiene. The term cleanliness implies the absence of dust, dirt, garbage or waste, foul smell, stains, etc. It is essential for us to learn about cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation and the various diseases that are caused due to poor maintenance of hygiene conditions. It must be followed by every human as it is vital to all. By relating social awareness need for students, this camp itself for a great stimulation as cleanliness is first stride towards healthy life. Illustratively, this camp was a great motivation as it was totally concernedwith India as Clean and Green India. Also, it was to improve the quality of life in rural areas. There is far greater importance of having social awareness than just getting along with the society. Curious to be the part of this great drive that could have transformed the face of our country forever.
