Pedagogic Strategies
Jayawantrao Sawant Polytechnic follows 3 approaches for making a student understand and learn concepts in various teaching and learning situations
- Teacher-Centred:This approach is often used as whole-class teaching can be effective and teachers frequently ask students to explain and elaborate key ideas, rather than merely lecture.
-
Learner-Centred:This approach is used for learning theories suggesting student should play an active role in the learning process. Students therefore use prior knowledge and new experiences to create knowledge. Our teachers facilitates this process, but also creates and structures the conditions for learning. Our teachers accepted the challenge to shift from teacher-centred to learner-centred approach.
-
Learning-Centred: “Learning-centred approach” relatively effective, our teachers considers the local context, including the number of students in the class, the physical environment, the availability of teaching and learning materials, etc.. Teachers are flexible and carefully adapt their approaches based upon the college environment.
